Thread Dimensional Type (CD Cover)

First things first no I did not make this! :) I wish I had though.
This reminds me of one of my first year projects which was to explore the avenues of 3D type using found objects. One example for the project was similar to this but no where near as good. It would be fab to try this myself. I just think this is a really well thought out CD cover. Graphically it makes me excited and inspired!
I've not heard this album. It's new out this year. If you want to know more here is the HIllsong website link: www.hillsong.com

Carole Guevin

If you don't know about this woman, you need to. She is a legend!
See her skills and work at http://caroleguevin.com/
If you are a designer worth knowing about you should be on here. I hope I can be good enough to be featured by her one day :)

My wish list begins...

I was browsing through the infamous 'Feature by .cg' (at http://caroleguevin.com/) and stumbled upon these amazing chairs! When I get to the right stage I'd love to have one of these in my office - or 2 so that visitors can wait in a pretty and unique area :) These designs are by 'Tokujin Yoshioka' (see http://caroleguevin.com/tokujin-yoshioka for Carole Guevin's blog post about it).
After this I may begin to collect and generate a wish list made up of items I'd like - which I would probably never be able to afford - but will aspire to have them in years and years to come - when I'm rich and famous! ;)

Feeling a little dramatic?

This is the start of a small project I have going of my own. This was my first sketch for an up-and-comming event :) Exciting. Will keep you posted on this. Hope you like it!

To go with the Scone

If you haven't guessed already, I've got a few sketches I drew a while back and I've wanted to post them on here. This week I've actually had the chance to do so. So I hope you like my little drawings :) And that you share my passion for food! Ha!

Shine your light

I had loads of candles at our wedding and we're just using up the last ones at home now. We need to get some more, they've all melted away :( gutted. I love candles. They make a house homely and welcoming. Hope this makes you a little warmer.

Fruity!

After all that cake this week I thought it would be good to finally put up some fruit. Something healthy. Yes I do know what healthy stuff is :) I did try to include a kiwi but I couldn't stop the colour looking mucky so decided to just use the bright ones.

1, 2, Hey, Hey!

This post is dedicated to my husband. I told him I'd draw him a mic! If you know what type of mic this is without looking it up I'll be impressed :) - not that it takes a lot to impress me ha! Although it's not the most colourful of objects I think it's ok. May be I'll jazz it up in the future?

Confidence is key!

And breath :) I've just handed in my second dissertation proposal and I'm much more confident about this one. We were advised to choose a topic that we were passionate about seeing as though most of our time would be taken doing it. This new proposal is much more defined than my first one and hopefully my tutor thinks so too. I will keep you posted on this throughout my next year or so depending on deadline dates etc. And no it's not about cake! I wish!!

Scone

Can you tell I'm in a baking phase at the moment? Although I haven't baked any I still love them. I also want to know how such a small and delightful thing as a scone can cause so many arguments over dialect! how do you pronounce the word "scone"? :)

Talking of Cake...

I've admired the "Keep Calm and Carry On" iconic poster for years and always wanted to try to do my own version for a bit of fun. After chatting with a good friend I decided to finally try it out using my cake illustration from last week. It's not the best design - I haven't a clue what typeface is used for the original (to be fair I think that information is hush hush). However, this is what I've come up with. What do you think to my motto?? :)

Something Sweet

CAKE!!
By now you should know that I like cake and I love to bake so here is a slice for you! :) I was supposed to post this last week but Blogger failed me when I came to log on. So here it is. Enjoy something sweet on me. Let me know what your favourite home-baked cakes are and may be I'll bake it for you...

How to be Generous.

I know this isn't anything related to design but I had to show you the sillyness of this:
I love Sainsbury's I really do but this just made me laugh!! How generous of them. And you can't even use it on petrol! Oh dear. Ha!

New Books!!

Slowly building my collection :)
I aspire to have a brilliant bookshelf full of brilliant books that I can use for inspiration and gather tips and tricks. This is hopefully just the start. The Print & Pattern book is AMAZING!! The Print & Pattern blog is brought together in a book by Bowie Style. It is seriously like eye candy for designers! So many pretty pictures to absorb into your mind. It is fab!! Highly recommended.

I LOVE Betty's!
My Mum went to Betty's and brought back some infamous coffee for my husband :) Even though I'm not a massive fan of coffee I am a big fan of the packaging. Look how simple and cute it is. I had to put it on here to show you. If you have never been to a Betty's tea room, you must go at least the once just to say you've been. The "cream tea" is the best - so long as you don't get tempted by the cake trolley! Then you're in trouble. Ha!

Self-Driven Project

For my final Year 2 University project I had to set myself a brief to follow throughout the past term. We were instructed to have a faux client to work from. So, in short, I decided to 're-launch' a local craft supplying company into the international market. My aim was to produce a stationary set and website design for it (at least). After a challenging but rewarding creative journey I'm happy to display some of my final work from this project.
